WHAT'S AHEADAs we refine the site, we'll be bringing you more on feng shui including useful tips and a reproduction of the Bagua as it appears in "A Deadly Arrangement." You will also notice the look of the site evolve, so do keep checking back. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATIONAs part of my work as the editor of "The Lineup", the monthly newsletter of the Northern California chapter of Mystery Writers of America, I wrote a newsy column entitled "Outtakes." Beginning in September, I shall revive that past effort, bringing you tidbits from the road as I travel around on tour. This will be of interest to both feng shui and mystery enthusiasts as I present information about bookstores and people I meet, particularly the good and bad ch'i encountered. For instance, first thing I will do upon entering a bookstore is note the location of the cash register. Proceeding from there, I will provide the store manager with suggestions for improving business. LINKS+The Webmaster and I plan to provide Links to other sites pertinent to both mystery books and feng shui. In particular, I want to include sites I find extremely useful in researching feng shui and sites of various bookstores. The + refers to books I'm reading and/or recommend. Primarily, the books will be non-fiction feng shui and mystery novels. For example, currently sharing space on my bedside table are "Death at Whitechapel," A Victorian Mystery, by Robin Paige, and "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui," by Karen Kingston. The former is a fascinating, well-written read which provides, to this reader anyway, the most logical theory--given the known clues--as to the identity of Jack the Ripper. The latter, as you would expect, puts the reader up front and personal with clutter--a feng shui no-no. (Incidentally, having books by the bed is not considered good feng shui as the bedroom has two purposes only--one of which is not reading!) Here too, I will provide a list of books which I believe are among the best for anyone just getting started with feng shui. While I'm at it, I might as well give you the book that got me started twelve years ago: "Interior Design with Feng Shui" by Sarah Rossbach. AUSPICIOUS PROJECTSHerein you will find the status of current projects, such as "Positioned To Die," book 2 in the Feng Shui Mystery series, due in bookstores next summer. March 1, 2002 is the deadline for Book 3, as yet untitled. In September, I will pen a synopsis for the website and let you know the feng shui angle featured in the mystery. Other books I have written, both mystery and mainstream, which are currently seeking a home will be presented here as well. MAILING LIST & MISCELLANEYWe will be putting together a mailing list to send information about author events and where The Feng Shui Mysteries can be purchased in your area. In the planning stages are contests and exclusive mail order items--a feng shui calendar, feng shui mirrors and jewelry related to and for enchancing each area of the Bagua from Career to Helpful People/Travel.
To conclude, we're excited about The Feng Shui Mysteries! We encourage all readers to get involved with feng shui, an enlightening, innovative way bring positive change in your life. Good Ch'i All Around! Denise Osborne about Denise | events | books | contact | what's ahead | home |
